We're back for this week's post! The sun's shining (at least in the Northern Hemisphere) and its time for summer! Long sunny days await... But Thomas is not going to return any time soon! With quite a haul of Season 20 still to air in the US and UK, we're expecting Season 21 in July or August... And the special, "Journey Beyond Sodor" has been pushed back, as well! While previous specials were generally released in June-July in UK cinemas, Journey will only be making its UK cinema debut on August 25th - which might mean pushed back Digital download dates as well.

...But, we got you! While Thomas' on a break, ThomasNATION will be posting weekly posts - random topics, everything Thomas! So be sure to keep checking and follow our Twitter - @TheThomasNATION (click here) to stay updated!

Today, Jack Frefigs (JFtheLOLZOR) writes a small review / analysis on the Season 8 episode, "Percy & The Magic Carpet." Read it to know what he thinks about the ep…

The Dark Ages of Thomas (by ThomasFan3000)

"The Dark Ages of Thomas." Talk about drama. Also talk about exaggeration. Or maybe not? ThomasNATION member, ThomasFan3000 takes a trip down arguably one of the worst patches of Thomas' TV history: Season 13 - 16. In his essay, of "The Dark Ages of Thomas" he talks about why it might have been, where the team went wrong, and why The "Brenner Era" was the biggest improvement in the show's history:

It has been forever and a half since we talked about these seasons, which were the worst of all in Thomas' TV history. With the transition to CGI being terrible for most fans, the quality of the stories that accompanied was the biggest let-down.

I, thankfully, wasn't on social media at the time when Season 13 emerged. I was about 10 years old when Hero of the Rails came out. My age at the time when these episodes premiered reveals another layer of the dark ages (we'll talk about that down the line.)

Certainly, Season 8 - 12 were not the best the…

ThomasNATION members, Megan and Michael start a four-review series, The Good, The Bad and Toby. They will review two episodes - one a good review, the other a critical. Both from Season 5. Both about Toby.

After Megan's positive review for Toby's Discovery, Megan takes the wheel to describe just why he feels that episode was a let-down, and not good at all. Which side do you agree with? Read on to find out why Michael thinks that episode was bad, before you decide...

This is quite an innovative series in my opinion. A good review, a critical review. Really gets both sides of the coin. Megan did a positive review of Toby's Discovery, and I'm going to tell you why I completely dislike that episode:

The start of the episodes is pretty good - (an exception, in this episode). I don't have a lot of complaints although why is the map a map of North Wales? That's bothered me since I found out; and Toby's theme mixed with Oliver's isn't as good as everyone thin…

ThomasNATION members, Megan (MeganMusketeers) and Michael (MichaelSth1995) start a four-review series, The Good, The Bad and Toby. They will review two episodes - one a good review, the other a critical. Both from Season 5. Both about Toby.

Here's Megan's positive review of "Toby's Discovery" - why its a good episode.... Do you agree? Read on:

Now it should be no surprise that I love season 5, it is my favourite season after all. I love it so much that I can't pick out one episode to be my favourite. But one that's up there is the slow paced, relaxing yet spooky and adventurous episode “Toby's Discovery”. Now the episode starts off with the little, brown box in his little, brown box getting ready for the day. When Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Controller... The morbidly obese, bald man, whatever you call him arrives at Toby's Shed at Arlesdale End with Stephen and Bridgett. Now ever since this season Toby sleeps in his old shed, running the Ffarquhar br…
